Home Assistant add-on: rtl_433
Home Assistant is an open source home automation system that I use to control things around my house. It's a well supported piece of software that supports a ton of smart home devices. And if it doesn't happen to support some sensor or device that you'd like to use, there's a simple way to create add-ons.
I bought several 433MHz wireless temperature and motion detection sensors and a radio receiver USB dongle that were well supported by the rtl_433 project, hoping to use them with my Home Assistant setup. Someone else on the Home Assistant forums made an add-on that kinda worked with rtl_433, but it wasn't maintained and was missing features. So, I made my own.
